New Article by Visiting Fellow Jonathan Liljeblad

The Washington University’s Global Studies Law Review published an article by HRP Visiting Fellow, Jonathan Liljeblad: “Indigenizing International Law Education”.

Liljeblad’s article explores how law schools can integrate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and voices into the teaching of international law to counter colonial legacies. He proposes a framework based on critical and curriculum studies, emphasizing Indigenous agency and the importance of intercultural engagement. The article calls for structural reforms in legal education that go beyond symbolic inclusion to empower Indigenous peoples as co-creators of legal knowledge.

The article is open-access and can be found online.
